Benefits of laser hair removal
1. Comfort
The dual mode filtering and square pulse technology on our system has key innovations enabling practically pain-free and minimal downtime, results are safer and more targeted as well as enhanced client comfort.
2. Faster & Fewer Treatments
The combination of lower fluence and selective waveband technology (SWT) means the IPL is more targeted like a laser as it targets more specific chromophores in the skin, resulting in fewer treatments compared to other brands of Laser & IPL on the market today.
3. Proven Results
With 20 years of clinical experience, the Ellipse system is one of the most proven multi-application laser treatment systems, leading physicians and doctors have been actively involved in the development of the Ellipse MultiFlex+, and clinical studies have thoroughly documented the Ellipse’s safety and effectiveness – before and after images are available to showcase the results that can be achieved.

Questions & Answers
How does the treatment work?
A thin layer of gel is applied to the skin to ensure the maximum amount of light enters the skin. The applicator is pressed against the skin and a carefully controlled pulse of visible light is released and absorbed by the pigment in the hair. The melanin converts the light into heat that travels down into the hair matrix and destroys the cells, preventing future hair growth.
Can all hairs be treated?
Brown and black hairs can be treated effectively as the light can be absorbed into the melanin (colour) of the hair, unfortunately, blonde, red, grey or white hairs do not respond particularly well to the light treatment.
Can all skin types be treated?
Yes all skin types from 1-6 can be treated using the system though different applicator is used for darker skin types 4-6.
How long does the treatment take?
A large number of hairs can be treated in one flash, an upper lip takes approximately 5 minutes and a half leg takes 30 minutes.
How many treatments do I need?
Every hair has a life cycle, it grows for a period of time, falls out, rests and then starts to grow again. Only the hairs in the growing stage are treated, so a course of treatment is required up to 6-8 to effectively treat all the hairs in the growth cycle.
Do I need to take special precautions before and after the treatment?
It is important not to pluck, tweeze, wax or use hair removal cream during the four weeks before the treatment. This ensures that as many hair follicles as possible contain hair which can be destroyed. It is extremely important to avoid tanning – sun, sunbed and self-tanning products before and during the treatment period. It is recommended that you use sunscreen SPF 30 for four weeks following the treatment.
Before treatment can commence a patch test is carried out, this is done 48 hours beforehand to check the skin is suitable without any reaction.
Does the treatment hurt?
The treatment is practically pain-free, similar to that of a rubber band flick on the skin, some clients feel virtually nothing at all apart from a small amount of heat.
How can I be sure it is safe and effective?
Clinical trials documenting the Ellipse machine’s safety and effectiveness were carried out by leading doctors prior to its release and it has been used daily for over 20 years. You are welcome to view the scientific papers on the Ellipse website at www.ellipse.com
