What are the benefits of Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels are a single or combined acid-based solution that is applied to the face to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of new cells. The aim is to improve the appearance of the skin. There are 3 types of peels depending on the depth they go into the layers of the skin, from superficial, to medium to deep. As an experienced skin practitioner, I use superficial and medium peels for in-clinic treatments.  When using chemical peels and resurfacing treatments it’s extremely important to determine which type of chemical peels to use will depend on the client’s skin type, skin condition, home care being used, and skin concerns.

Offering three different level of resurfacing and chemical peels with specific peels for sensitive, reactive and very dry skin.

1 – First Time User/Mild Strength (homecare prep is recommended but not essential)

1 – First Time User (Sensitive/Reactive/Dry Skin)

2 – Mild to Medium Strength Chemical Peel (homecare prep maybe required before treatment)

3 – Medium Strength Chemical Peel (homecare prep is a must before treatment)

 Plus there is an additional boosting treatment Light & Bright that combines IPL and a Chemical Peel.

Light & Bright Facial – IPL Skin Rejuvenation & Chemical Peel

An advanced combined treatment of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and a mild strength chemical peel to improve skin texture, clarity, collagen and overall skin rejuvenation.  Depending on the skin type and condition, the peel and IPL may be split over two treatment times. This is also a good treatment for acne prone skin. No numbing cream required and minimal downtime.

It is recommended that a good daily homecare routine with active skincare is in place to get the full benefit of this treatment. Frequency between treatments 3-4 weeks

FILLMED Skin Perfusion Light Peel & Bright Peel

FILLMED Laboratories has been designed for medical aesthetic professionals since 1978 have a  range of two superficial chemical peels targeting skin quality enhancement and are suitable for ALL skin types. Formulated with gluconolactone, which is a ‘new age’ chemical used in peeling as it does not strip the skin of moisture. Instead, it helps to stimulate the renewal of the epidermis, the peels are recommended for combating the signs of aging (age spots, pigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles), for restoring a glow to dull, uneven skin, and for generally improving the complexion.  The Light Peel is perfect for congested and acne-prone skin as it is suitable for sensitive skin. FILLMED Chemical Peel treatment is carried out over 3-6 sessions at two-to-three week intervals.

Juliette Armand Ameson Peel

Ameson skin medical line of chemical peels based on scientific expertise and proven effectiveness with lasting effect. Hyaluronic acid is the cornerstone of the Ameson line combined with powerful and specialised ingredients with synergistic action to help target key skin concerns such as pigmentation, acne and ageing. A single treatment can help to speed up the cell renewal, boost skin clarity and brightness but a course of treatment is recommended to see further long term improvements and results.  All JA Ameson Peel treatments start off on lower level strength peel and then progress the strength up over the course of 4- 6 treatments.  Frequency – 2 weeks / Downtime – minimal on first 1-2 peels, except mild dryness, however when moving up to stronger peels there can be some flaking of the skin.
In addition to single peels, Juliette Armand Ameson offer Peel Therapies, a Layering Technique that can use a variety of different types of peels and strengths that is layered onto the skin over the course of the treatments.  3 JA Ameson Therapies include Bright for pigmentation and uneven skin tone, Pure for acne prone skin and Rejuvenate for ageing skin.

CLINICCARE peels will help to refresh, even skin tone, help achieve a more radiant complexion and encourage skin cell regeneration. These superficial chemical peels contain a mixture of Glycolic, Lactic, Azelaic, Kojic and Salicylic Acids, these combination of acids can help improve fine lines, a brighter complexion, improved skin tone and a more youthful appearance.

GLOW – a Glycolic acid and Mandelic acid peel effective in treating hyperpigmentation, age spots, sun damage and dull, tired skin. Suitable for photo damaged skin, pigmentation, Melasma (darkening of the skin), dull and sallow skin color.

INNO-EXFO Advanced Peel – £95 per treatment / course of 4 £360

MELINE DEPIGMENT TREATMENT

MELINE Depigment is an advanced specialist treatment for hyperpigmentation, sun damage, melasma, post-inflammatory pigment and hormonal pigmentation.  The MELINE range, has specialist protocol and homecare for Caucasian skin (skin type 1-3 fair skin) and a separate specialist protocol and homecare for Ethnic skin (skin type 4-6 dark skin). This two-step treatment can treat the removal of pigmentation including sun damage, melasma, lentigos, post-inflammatory, hormonal and stress.  The skin is prepped then the professional MELINE® 02 CAUCASIAN OR ETHNIC SKIN peel is applied to the skin and left for 45 minutes.  This is then removed and moisturiser is applied and sunscreen SPF is, this is a very simple procedure.  The second step of treatment is repeated 30 days after the first application, and a third application (only if required is 6 to 8 months after the second treatment).  Post treatment you will follow the aftercare given and only use the homecare products that have been recommended throughout the next 6 months or so.  Regular reviews and touch-base sessions with your skin therapist to check skin progress.
